Q1: What is Butterflai?
Butterflai is an AI-powered business intelligence platform. It connects to your existing data sources -- such as Shopify, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, TikTok Ads, Klaviyo, and uploaded files -- and lets you ask questions in plain language. Instead of building queries or navigating complex dashboards, you simply ask what you need to know, and the AI retrieves the answer from your data.
Q2: Is my data safe?
Yes. Butterflai uses encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, and detailed audit logging. Your data is never used to train AI models. The platform is designed for GDPR compliance. See here for full details on security and privacy.
Q3: What languages does the AI support?
The AI can understand and respond in both English and Greek. You can ask questions in either language and receive answers in the same language. The platform interface is also available in both languages.
Q4: What file formats can I upload?
You can upload Excel files (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV files (.csv) to the Document Library. Once uploaded, the platform processes and indexes the data so the AI can answer questions about it. PDF documents can also be uploaded to the Knowledge Base for reference.
Q5: How many integrations can I connect?
There is no fixed limit on the number of integrations. You can connect as many data sources as your business requires. Each integration syncs independently, and the AI can query across all connected sources to answer your questions.
Q6: Can I share files with my team?
Yes. Files in the Document Library can be shared with specific team members or with your entire organization. When you share a file, recipients can view the data and ask the AI questions about it, subject to their role permissions.
Q7: How does the AI find answers?
When you ask a question, the AI analyzes it to determine which data sources are relevant. It then generates optimized database queries, retrieves the data, and formulates a natural-language response. For document-based questions, it searches your Knowledge Base using semantic understanding to find the most relevant information.
Q8: Can I ask questions in Greek?
Absolutely. The AI is fully fluent in Greek. You can type your questions in Greek, and the AI will understand the context, query your data, and respond in Greek. This works for both structured data questions and Knowledge Base queries.
Q9: What happens after I upload a file?
After you upload a file, Butterflai processes it in the background. For spreadsheets, the platform analyzes the structure, identifies columns and data types, and indexes the content. For documents, it extracts text and creates semantic embeddings. Once processing completes, you receive a notification and can immediately start asking questions about the data.
Q10: How do I generate a report?
Navigate to the Dashboard section and create or open a dashboard. Add widgets for the metrics you want to track. You can configure each widget with specific KPIs, date ranges, and chart types. Dashboards can be exported or shared with team members who have the appropriate permissions.
Q11: Can multiple team members use the same account?
Each team member should have their own individual account. This ensures proper access control, audit logging, and personalized settings. Admins can invite as many team members as needed through Settings > User Management. See here for details on inviting users.
Q12: What is the difference between Admin and Member roles?
Admins have full access to every feature, including user management, integrations, roles, and settings. Members have access to the Knowledge Agent, can view dashboards, and can use the Document Library, but cannot change settings or manage other users. See here for a complete permission comparison.
Q13: How often does integration data sync?
Sync frequency depends on the integration type and your configuration. Most integrations sync daily by default. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time from Settings > Integrations. The last sync time and status are always visible on the integration card.
Q14: Can I export my dashboards?
Yes. Dashboards and their widgets can be exported for reporting purposes. You can share dashboard views with team members or stakeholders who need to see the data.
Q15: What if the AI gives a wrong answer?
While the AI is highly accurate, no system is perfect. If you receive an answer that seems incorrect, you can rephrase your question for clarity, check that the relevant data source is connected and recently synced, or consult the Knowledge Agent with more specific terms. If the issue persists, contact support with the question and the response you received so the team can investigate.
