The Google Search Console integration connects your SEO data to Butterflai using a service account. The setup follows the same 4-step wizard pattern, using your site's URL or domain.
What you need
Access to your Google Search Console property
Owner or Full-access permissions on the property (to grant service account access)
How to connect
Step 1: Find your property in Google Search Console
Go to Google Search Console.
Sign in with the Google account that manages your website.
Open the property selector in the top left corner.
Select the correct property. Both types are supported:
Domain property (e.g., example.com)
URL-prefix property (e.g., https://www.example.com/)
Copy the property URL or domain and paste it into the Butterflai setup form.
Step 2: Copy the Service Account email
After submitting the property URL, Butterflai creates a Service Account and displays its email (e.g., [email protected]). Copy this email.
Step 3: Grant access in Search Console
In Search Console, go to Settings > Users and permissions.
Click Add user.
Paste the Service Account email.
Select Full permissions.
Click Add.
The Service Account does not need to accept an invitation - access is activated immediately.
Step 4: Authorize in Butterflai
Return to Butterflai.
Click Check Authority to verify access.
Synchronization starts automatically.
What data syncs
Search impressions - how often your site appears in Google Search results
Clicks - how many users clicked through to your site
CTR - click-through rate across queries and pages
Queries - the search terms driving traffic to your site, with position data
When to use
Connect Google Search Console if you want the AI to analyze your organic search performance, identify high-opportunity keywords, and track SEO trends.
