The Google Ads integration connects your paid search data to Butterflai using a service account. The setup follows the same 4-step wizard pattern as Google Analytics 4, but uses your Google Ads Customer ID.

What you need

  • Your Google Ads Customer ID (found at the top of the Google Ads interface, formatted as XXX-XXX-XXXX)

  • Admin access to the Google Ads account (to grant service account permissions)

How to connect

Step 1: Find your Customer ID

  1. Sign in to Google Ads.

  2. Your Customer ID is displayed at the top of the page (e.g., 123-456-7890).

  3. Enter it in the Butterflai setup form.

Step 2: Copy the Service Account email

After submitting the Customer ID, Butterflai creates a Service Account and displays its email. Copy this email.

Step 3: Grant access in Google Ads

  1. In Google Ads, go to Admin > Access and security.

  2. Add the Service Account email with Read-only access.

  3. Confirm the invitation.

Step 4: Authorize in Butterflai

  1. Return to Butterflai.

  2. Click Check Authority to verify access.

  3. Synchronization starts automatically once verified.

What data syncs

  • Ad performance - impressions, clicks, click-through rate, average CPC

  • Spend data - daily and campaign-level spend, budget utilization

  • Conversions - conversion counts, conversion rate, cost per conversion

When to use

Connect Google Ads if you want the AI to analyze your paid search performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and track conversion efficiency.
